Our colleagues - Building their career in Their say…
Koay Lee Sean Graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) It all started during my final year studies in Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) in UM, where my lecturer Dr. Choong Kwai Fatt recommended me to work part-time at Adrian Yeo & Co. His intention was to let his students gained quick snapshot / big picture of audit through small firm. Indeed, good wisdom! I have 3 happy and rewarding years here as audit and tax senior where I handled a portfolio of 150 clients. I can apply most of basic knowledge gained from UM as I have the opportunity to be involved in broad range of work such as statutory audit, special audit, tax compliance, tax planning, manual accounting, accounting software, secretarial work etc. Language is not only the dress of thoughts, lack of it sucks one’s confidence. . Here we have to deal with clients of different characters including multi-nationals plus debts collection, that calls for the highest order of communication. Most of us are lacking in the aspect of communication, those who can communicate effectively with diplomacy will definitely go far. I am pleased with my role, the people, the culture, the philosophy of the firm, “growing people, growing business”.

Christine Ong Bee Ean Graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) Graduating from university in 2004 is the end of one episode of life while another episode begins, the application of what we learnt in textbooks. I joined Adrian Yeo & Co once I graduated. Working here has given me the opportunity to apply the knowledge that I learnt in university such as accounting, audit, tax and company laws. The responsibility came early while I was promoted to audit and tax senior after 1 year where I have to manage about 150 clients with a few team members. The role called for strong verbal and writing skill, the right manner, tone and style on how one communicate, I am still learning how to grapple with this skill. In this thriving public practice, learning seems to be endless, continuous self learning and improvement through reading, discussion, attending seminars for both technical and soft subjects.
